About Us
This site began with a simple frustration: the dune tours around Anna Bay are spread across scattered booking pages, each with its own description, price and review count. We bring them together in one place. Every listing here touches the Worimi Conservation Lands, either directly from Birubi Point or as part of a longer day trip from Sydney, and each one is described on its own terms.
We are an independent comparison site. That means we are not the operator driving a 4WD up the dunes at Birubi Point, not the crew handing out sandboards, and not the booking platform taking your payment. Our job is narrower: gather the bookable dune tours for the Port Stephens region, sort them into categories, and describe each one honestly. Who runs it. How long it lasts. What past travellers rated it. The booking itself always happens on the live listing page, never here.
What This Site Covers
The scope is tight on purpose. Everything listed here runs on the Stockton Bight dunes of the Worimi Conservation Lands, departing from Anna Bay and Birubi Point, or reaches them as part of a full-day trip out of Sydney. The current roster holds 11 tours in four categories: three sandboarding trips, three 4WD passenger and tag-along tours, one quad bike adventure, and four Sydney day trips. A tour that never touches the dunes does not make the cut, however good it looks.
Categories matter here because the experiences differ. Sandboarding is a short, physical outing on a board. A 4WD passenger tour covers more ground, and a tag-along tour puts your own vehicle on the sand behind a guide. Quad bikes add speed, and the Sydney day trips bundle the dunes with a dolphin cruise or a koala sanctuary. Same dunes, very different days.
How We Pick The Tours We List
Every tour on this site has to pass the same test: it must be bookable on a live listing page, it must run on the Stockton Bight dunes, and its operator must be identifiable by name. We record the rating and review count exactly as published, and we note the duration the operator states. Prices live on the booking page, where they stay current, so we do not repeat figures that could go stale here.
We are just as careful with the negatives. Most tours on the Worimi Conservation Lands have no wheelchair access, and the listings here say so plainly rather than tucking it away. One Sydney day trip currently has no published reviews, and we show that gap instead of dressing it up. A comparison you can trust has to be honest about what a tour lacks, not only what it promises.
How The Site Makes Money
Book a tour through a link on this site and we may receive a payment from the booking platform. The price you pay stays the same either way. That payment is the entire business model. Operators cannot buy a higher spot in a comparison, and no tour is described more kindly because it pays better.
Does the money change what we write? Judge the pages for yourself. The roster includes operators that compete head to head on the same dunes, and small operators whose tours will likely never earn us much. Ratings and review counts appear exactly as published, including the middling ones. And when a listing stops being bookable, it gets removed, because a comparison page full of dead links is useless to everyone.
Good To Know Before Booking
A few practical points before you book. The dune tours depart from Anna Bay and Birubi Point on the northern shore of Port Stephens, and the Sydney day trips run long, around twelve hours door to door. Most listings include free cancellation, but the exact terms on the live booking page are the ones that apply. Conditions on the dunes change with wind and weather, so confirm your meeting point and start time when you book.
